Water & Sauna Activities – Terms & Conditions
Open water swimming, paddleboard and sauna terms and conditions must be adhered and apply to anyone taking part.
Venue rules:
- Adults 18+ only. No dogs permitted.
- You must be a NOWCA member. New members can select to pick up their wristband from us (we receive commission from NOWCA when you select us as your “local venue”). Existing members must bring their wristband with them.
- No entering the water or sauna unless authorised by the staff/volunteers after using the wristband to scan in.
- Strictly no swimming or paddleboarding outside of organised bookable swim sessions. Our pools are privately owned and managed.
- Arrive at the start of session times promptly, sessions will end at the end time.
- Always act responsible and sensible in the water.
OW Swim Conditions:
- Bright swim caps and tow floats must be worn. Bring them with you or hire them from us (fees apply, limited numbers on first come first served basis).
- You are a confident open water swimmer and can swim 200m without standing up.
- Wetsuits are optional over 12 degrees but recommended when the water temp is below 22 degrees. We DO NOT supply wetsuits. If you choose to NOT wear a wetsuit, it is entirely at your own risk.
- Goggles, socks, and gloves are highly recommended but not compulsory. If you choose to NOT to wear googles, socks and gloves, it is entirely at your own risk.
- We recommend applying swimmer’s itch/rash cream prior to swims.
- Always follow any safety instructions/advice to prevent injury to you or others.
- Follow instructions, rules or guidance from signage and/or staff.
- Do not swim if you are feeling unwell. If you become unwell, you must exit the water or signal by putting your hand up in the pool, and inform the staff/volunteers immediately.
- You shall ensure that you are physically fit and healthy and have no medical conditions and/or pre-existing medical conditions that would affect undertaking open water activities.
- You will not partake if you are not mentally or physically in good health, or have been drinking alcohol or taking drugs.
- Follow the safety procedure of lying on your back and raising an arm to attract attention when in difficulty.
- No diving or jumping into the pool. Use the matted entry/exit area only.
Paddleboard Conditions:
- Lifejackets are supplied by us during the session. You shall ensure you are happy with the condition and size of the lifejacket before entering the water.
- You are a confident open water swimmer and can swim 200m without standing up.

Sauna Conditions:
- You shall ensure that you are physically fit and healthy and have no medical conditions.
- If you have any (or suspect to have any) of the following, it is your sole responsibility to seek advice from a qualified medical professional PRIOR to using the sauna & cold plunge tub:
- Pregnant
- Cardiovascular disease
- Heart disease
- High and low blood pressure
- Nervous system disorders
- Lymphatic system disorders
- Blood disorders
- Epilepsy
- Respiratory conditions
- Diabetes
- Do not use the sauna under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Adults only (18+) permitted in the sauna.
- Swim wear must be worn – please bring and sit on a towel.
- Remove metal items, jewellery, watches, contact lenses and eyewear before entering the sauna.
- Long sauna sessions can be dangerous, 5-10 mins is recommended. Do NOT exceed 15 mins use!
- If you feel unwell – exit immediately and inform a team member.
- You must respect other users and their space at all times.
Prices, Refunds & Cancellations:
- Prices may increase at any time for new session bookings.
- CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel or amend a swim session, payment is non-refundable and non-transferable. If we cancel a swim session, it will be refunded as ONE swim credit for use at our venue to your account (NOT a refund of monies).
- Be prepared for sudden weather changes which may postpone or cancel sessions. Sessions will continue if its raining (as long as it’s not heavy rain/hail, lightening or high winds or where the water has become very silty/murky). Where it is cancelled, we will not be responsible for any costs incurred by you getting to the venue/accommodation.
Accidents, Risks & Disclaimer:
- Report accidents immediately to the staff/volunteers.
- You agree to partaking and entering the water at your own risk. In the event of injury, accident, loss, damage, or illness, however caused, no responsibility shall be accepted by the owners, staff, volunteers, or anyone involved in the open water activity.
- You agree to waive, release, and discharge the owners, staff, volunteers, and anyone involved from liability.
- You agree that you acknowledge all risks associated with undertaking an open water activity at our location, including; the dangers of personal injury and even death. You are responsible for your own safety.
- You agree that the owners, staff, volunteers are not responsible for any theft, damage, destruction or loss of property, vehicles, or personal belongings left poolside, in the carpark or anywhere else on site.
- We are not qualified to provide advice/opinions on customers fitness, health, or wellness levels. If you have concerns or do not feel well, please seek professional medical advice before booking.
- The venue will make activities as safe as reasonably practicable, by doing; a safety briefing, risk assessment and having a qualified lifeguard on duty. You accept and agree that open water activities are inherently dangerous and hazardous. The risks involved cannot be completely mitigated.
Photos for marketing:
You agree, assign and grant permission for us to take and use photos for marketing our venue and for press releases.
If you do not wish to be included, please make us aware.
Privacy Policy:
We use NOWCA / Kscan booking and safety systems, your personal information for swims is on their systems and accessed locally on the device until it is uploaded to the cloud.
As a venue who is part of the NOWCA network – we only use this information to provide operational, safety and compliance purposes (or where required by law) such as; reporting income, provide swim sessions, use the wristband to check in/out, to help us manage health and safety, and notify you of cancellations by phone/email (which are all a legitimate interest in operating safely and running our business).
We may use your medical information, emergency contacts and contact details that you have provided within the registration/app in the event of an accident/emergency, and in the event of an emergency we will share personal data with emergency services (a legitimate interest for health and safety compliance and your own health and wellbeing).
